The Anti-Aging Process - Take the
Necessary Precautions Now!
There's no doubt, we all want to stay young and beautiful.
Unfortunately, the aging process is a natural cycle that
everything and everyone must face at some stage in their life.
More and more people are looking to the latest anti-aging
practices, products and treatments in order to prevent or at
least slow the aging process. Before we notice the visible
signs we should be taking precautions to maintain our youthful
looking skin longer. Aging is most evident in our skin. Aging
causes the skin to lose its elasticity appearing
as fine lines and wrinkles, particularly on the face, neck
and hands.
The anti-aging process should begin by eliminating harmful
elements in our lives. As you know, smoking is not only
harmful to our health but it is also extremely harmful to our
skin. Nothing you do to slow the aging process will work if you
continue to smoke. Studies have shown that smokers tend to lose
skin elasticity easier than those who don't smoke.
Another harmful element is the aging process is the sun and
the exposure to it's ultra violet rays. Avoiding the harmful
rays of the sun by using the proper moisturizing sun blocks can
have a significant effect on the condition of your skin as you
grow older. The skin's aging process is not noticed immediately
in the younger generation who are exposed to the sun through
sun bathing etc. however, in years to come the effects on their
skin will hasten the aging process by breaking down the
collagen and elastin and lead to premature wrinkles and other
facial lines.
Of course, good nutrition is a major contributor to the
health of your body and its anti-aging capabilities.
Eating foods that are high in saturated fats
and trans-fatty acids can cause heart disease and are mainly
found in animal products like meat, eggs, butter, cheese, whole
milk and milk products. Trans-fatty acids appear in foods like
margarine and crackers. They can be replaced with unsaturated
fats like canola oil, olive oil, flax seed oil, nuts, avocado,
soy products and nut butters.
Good nutrition is simple! Nothing needs to be forbidden
in a healthy diet but some foods should dominate the diet and
others play a small part.
Exercise also plays a significant roll in the anti-aging
process as it helps to keep your body and mind active and
lessens the chances of being effected by so many diseases
caused by obesity. Thirty minutes of activity accumulated over
a day is recommended to stay fit and healthy.
Permanent changes to your lifestyle take time and often
don't happen overnight. The motivation has to come from
YOU. Think about your body needs and what you want to
achieve by changing to a healthier lifestyle. Every small
change you make to your long-term lifestyle counts towards your
health and the anti-aging process.
